Weekend!

Friday night we went to The Lumineers concert with Michael, Claire, & Steven. Doors open at 7, so naturally we get there at 8:30. Parking was sure to be crazy, but Claire had an idea! We can park in the Kroger parking lot! We put the car in park, and no more than 10 seconds later, a bouncer (or something?) came up to us and said we would get towed if we parked there. Someone offered him $10 to let us stay there, he took the money, and we left.

SKETCH.

But at the same time, we were with Claire :)

The concert was fun! Please enjoy some blurry photos (stolen from Claire-thanks, g!)

By the end of the night, my stomach was in knots because I really didn’t want to end the night with a missing car. I have a mild case of anxiety.

What do you know? The car was there and all was well in the world!

Saturday morning started out SLOOOWWW for me. Kevin woke up early to help Uncle Mike move into his new apartment, and I lazied around until 11 (and only got up because Baby Claire brought me Starbucks).  We went to Connor’s WAY, WAY cute apartment in Virginia Highlands to watch football and eat ourselves into a food coma.

Sunday morning, while Kevin was up getting ready to go take these fun pictures at the Stone Mountain golf course…

I got to wake up to this!

It was still beeping. With no battery.

The rest of Sunday consisted of Dairy Queen, the dog park, Target, and the couch. Great weekend if I do say so myself!

Move on Over O.A.R.

I remember the summer after my senior year in high school.  Me and a few of my buddies jumped in the car and made the trek up to Atlanta for our first O.A.R. concert.  To make a long story short, I have been listening to them ever since.  They have been my favorite band for the last 7 years and I pretty much don’t miss a concert every time they come to Atlanta. O.A.R. will always help remind me of my college years and all of the great things I experienced.  They are still the greatest band I have ever seen live.  But that’s probably because I have yet to see Mumford and Sons in concert….

It pretty much only took one CD for them to win me over.  I have been listening to “Sigh No More” for the last 6 months and it gives me chills every time (I know, E thinks I am crazy too).  They came to Atlanta a couple weeks ago and I was honestly considering the option of buying $150 tickets off of craigslist.  Good thing I had no luck finding any spare tickets or I probably would be broke right now.  All I know is the next time they step foot on American soil I will be there.  And if they never do again well it looks like I am going to England.

Here are a few of my favs….

Every song on the cd has been my favorite at some point or another but right now White Blank Page takes the cake.

Love this song.  Love this video.

One of their new songs.  Something magical happens for a minute starting around 3:10ish.  I can’t explain it with words. (Thanks Eliz!)

Song that is not on their cd but found it obsessively searching on youtube.

O.A.R. will always help me remember all of the great times I have had over the last few years of my life.  I have a pretty good hunch Mumford will do the same for now and the years to come.
